How Noktürn works

In plain words, and in the order it actually happens. We name what already works today and what is still being built — nothing here is a promise we cannot keep.

Radar · live web counts

What Radar sees right now

Radar sweeps the public web on a schedule and keeps rolling counts per continent, country and town — so you only have to give a radius. Always verify details with the organiser before travelling.

The phases

  1. Phase 1 · now

    Free listings and map placement

Organisers, venues, promoters, DJs and artists list an event with date, time, venue and full address at no cost — no setup fee, no advertising fee. Every listing is pinned on the map, so people looking at the area see it.

  2. Phase 1 · now

    Radar sweeps the public web

Radar scans public sources on a schedule and keeps rolling counts per continent, country and town. Findings carry the source link, entry type (free, donation, paid) and price tiers where published — plus a reminder to confirm details with the organiser.

  3. Phase 2 · building

The local partner network around venues

Cafés, bars, restaurants and hotels near venues join for free and appear beside nearby events. We build this network first: it is the honest proof we later show organisers. We claim no ticket sales we are not authorised to make.

  4. Phase 2 · rolling out

    Recommendations to nearby smartphone users

As coverage in a city becomes dense enough, people browsing nearby get events suggested for their radius. This rolls out city by city, starting in Cologne — we say when it is live, not before.

  5. Phase 3 · on agreement only

Ticketing where an organiser signs with us

Noktürn only sells tickets for events where the organiser has a brokerage agreement with us. Payment is handled by our payment provider, entry uses QR tickets, and each ticket can be sold exactly once — locked at database level.

  6. Always

    Verified, moderated, GDPR-first

Organisers confirm email and phone before publishing. Every listing can be reported and taken down, with an audit log. Consent for alerts is double opt-in and revocable at any time.

What costs nothing

  • · Event organisers and promoters
  • · Venues, clubs and concert halls
  • · Cafés, bars, restaurants and hotels near venues
  • · DJs, artists, bands and collectives
  • · Publishers and community listings

Listing, map placement and partner presence are free. A commission applies only to tickets we are authorised to sell for an organiser.

What we never do

  • · Claim to sell tickets for an event without the organiser's agreement.
  • · Publish a listing from an unverified organiser.
  • · Send alerts without double opt-in consent.
  • · Present Radar findings as confirmed — always verify with the organiser.

How Noktürn works

Submit in minutes. Verified before it goes live.

Every listing on Noktürn is submitted by the organiser or venue running the night — not scraped, not auto-generated. That is why counts on this page stay small and honest, and why addresses and times can be trusted down to the street.

  1. 1 · Describe the event

Title, category and sub-category, date, time and timezone — plus a description in your own words. One listing per event date, so nothing shows up twice.

  2. 2 · Pin the exact place

Region → country → city, then venue name and full street address. Precise addresses are what let the map, the neighbourhood view and Radar distance search work.

  3. 3 · Verify email and phone

Organisers confirm a working email address and a phone number with a 6-digit code before a listing goes live. Unverified submissions are not published.

  4. 4 · Review, then publish

Listings are checked against our Terms and UGC policy. Verified organisers get a shield badge; you choose how long the listing stays online, and can edit or remove it any time.

How verification works

  • Email confirmation — a one-time code proves the contact address really reaches the organiser.
  • Phone confirmation — a second code on a reachable number, so visitors and we can follow up on a listing.
  • Verified badge — shown only on events from organisers who completed both checks. No badge means treat details with care.
  • Report anything wrong — every listing has a report button. Reported items go to a moderation queue with an audit log and can be taken down.
